    Question Uncontested Divorce in California

Can anybody give me a general idea of how long the divorce process would take in the state of California if there are no children and no dispute as to who receives what property... just a clean, simple divorce where both parties are agreed? Is it still necessary or a good idea to get a lawyer? If so, how much would one expect to pay for a lawyer?

Perhaps it would be good to note that there are very little properties involved anyway (no houses, just a couple cars), and the marriage is only 15 months old so far.

Also forgot to add... I am not at all familiar with the divorce process. Does one need to give a reason for the divorce to a judge or anything like that? Is that going to make a difference in how complicated the process becomes? I have heard the term "irreconcilable differences" before and that would be the reason for this divorce. I just want to know what one should be prepared for throughout the whole process, and how long it would take under (what I think are) relatively simple circumstances.

    Thanks in advance.
