    Default MDOP and Purchase Permit

My question involves criminal law for the state of: michigan
back in 1997 i pled guilty to a mdop which was a misdeminor,i was 17 at the time but charged as an adult.today i called to check on the status of my purchase permit and they told me i had a problem.they didnt know how much the damage was and said that if it was over $100.00 that it is considered a felony due to a change in the law in 1999.
i am really confused now. how can this affect me if i was charged 2 yrs before the change?

Apparently there is confusion over your conviction charge and they want you to document that you were in fact convicted of a misdemeanor under the prior law. The threshold for a felony was changed to $200 in 1999. We have no way of determining for you why there is confusion.
