Default Washington Age of Consent Conflicting Law

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington

I know the age of consent in Washington is 16, so a relationship between a 18 year old & 16 is legal.

But I don't get how this law works: "RCW 9.68A.090, a person who communicates with a minor for immoral purposes is guilty of a gross misdemeanor."

Would the 18 year old get in trouble? Say that the communication w/ the minor wasn't for an immoral purpose but for an actual relationship & sexual contact happens as part of that relationship. Does this statute apply? The law seems pretty vague so can someone clarify?

    Thank you for your time.
