    Default Courtesy Notice

My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: california

Got a speeding ticket and never got a courtsey notice. The date on the ticket for the courtsey notice expired over a month ago. Went to court a couple of times looked on line to see if my ticket was in there and it never was until today. I know it is my duty to pay the ticket in a timely manner, but when the officer does not do his job in the same timely manner....if i take this to court do i have leg to stand on? I live in Santa Clara County

Not at all. They have a year to get a ticket processed.

    M. I know it is my duty to pay the ticket in a timely manner,
No, your duty is to respond to the citation or the court's request in a timely manner- NOT to "pay", but rather to plead whatever you chose and go from there.

What were the details of the cite? Are you going to make the State prove the case, or are you gonna plead guilty? The law enforcement cround here generally bristles when people admit they should be guilty, but still want to exercise their constitutional rights. Wierd.
