Fired Out of Retallitation

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of:California
My husband has a corporation he is all the board members. 2months ago he left without reason. I continued working as usually. Ive been working for him since 1997. One day he shows up and says hes firing me and not going to help with the bills like normal. I said ok filed for child support because I dont make enough monthly to cover all the bill and meds etc for a special needs child. We both recieved our packet for childsupport on 10-13-2010 he terminated me on 10-14-2010 and said it was for me applying for child support. which he didnt bring my termination paper until 10-17-2010. Im still owed for a week and a few days of pay he is refusing to give me. I contacted the labor board i have been just going in circles with them not really getting any help. I applied for unemployment they called him on 10-25-2010 he told them i lied on my application that i outright refused to do my work. he then called and told me he would fight it. As it stands I dont know where to call or what to do he has called to have the phone and internet shut off so no one can contact me. what can i do who do i call is this legal.please any help would be appreciated

This does not sound happy.

Contact a local employment law attorney immediately. You have a possible wrongful termination suit for him firing you because you availed yourself of a legally protected right of yours.

Have you actually filed the claim for the unpaid wages with the DLSE? Remember, your state is broke, employees are furloughed 3 days a month, and overtime is prohibited. They will get to your claim as soon as they can, but it could be a month or two.
