My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: New Jersey
While unemployed for over a year I have had recent brain surgery back in June 2010. I have been collecting unemployment insurance until then. I filed fro disability insurance and was denied insurance for some reason. I began collecting UI after i recovered but had two months without any money coming in on my part. Since then I have gotten over $1800 in hospital bills as well. I couldn't make payments on my vehicle or the hospital bills because I was trying to catch up in paying my rent and other bills. I have fallen behind on the vehicle payment now for 64 days including this months payment. All told I owe $1365 for the three months. I am going to turn in the vehicle voluntarily to the dealership I got it from. My question is if I file for bankruptcy, can I include these medical and ensuing money that is going to be owed to the vehicle finance company for the voluntary repo, in the bankruptcy? Note: I had previously filed for another bankruptcy back in 2001 due to divorce, it was dicharged in early 2002.
