My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Michigan, I received a ticket for impeded traffic last week for making a turn on a red light. I did not impede traffic, there was nobody coming, I made sure that traffic was clear. The officer said he was giving me a brake by giving me this ticket since it was no points but it is $150. If he gave me a ticket for no turn on red the fine is $110 and two points. My question, how can he charge me with an offense I did not commit? How do I go about fighting this ticket. I live in Canada and going to court is very time consuming for me. In Canada we are allowed to make turns on a red signal as long as no cars are coming. As well, the officer did not sign the ticket since it was issued electronically, he also put down the colour of my van as black and it is blue (it clearly states this on my ownership). Any way of working around this?
