My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania
My son was sentenced to a 3 month to 1 year sentence. He was paroled after 3 months and is approaching the 1 year mark and has had no problems. He was incarcerated in a different county and when released, his parole was transfered to the county we live in. He is soon going to be meeting with his parole officer who at their previous monthly check-in told him that their upcoming meeting would be their last time and that he would then transfer his parole/paperwork back to the county in which it originated to be completed. I'm wondering if this is a normal procedure as it would seem to me that once a case is transfered from county to county, that the originating county would be done with it. Also, if this is the case how long would a process like this take and what is entailed? His meeting is the 18th and he is supposed to be done on the 31st. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
