Exclamation Buying Stolen Property from Manager Without Knowing It Was Stolen

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois

My boyfriend was taken by police yesterday for buying stolen property from his manager at a computer store in Illinois. They searched his house, which he still lives in with his parents. They released him last night without bond and he is to go back on Wednesday with the items. There were others in the store involved who were also taken in for questioning. The police said the more he turns in the better, so he is turning in everything. What are the chances of him being charged with anything?

Default Re: Buying Stolen Property from Manager Without Knowing It Was Stolen

You're stating that he purchased a ton of stuff that the store sells from his manager at the store and an immense discount, well beyond his employee discount, and it never occurred to him that the manager was stealing the items? Why would the police and prosecutor believe he didn't know what was going on?

He should consult a criminal defense lawyer.
