My question involves a security deposit in the State of: Oregon
Upon move in, we trimmed trees, with our landlord's consent and began hauling the downed branches out slowly.
The landlord called twice, asking us when we would be moving the remaining branches as it made the property ugly, we told her that we would move them. She provided no expectation or demand on when they needed to be moved nor did we.
One day we came home and the branches were all gone.

We are now moving out and she has informed us she will be withholding our security deposity to reimburse what she paid for the tree removal service.
I spoke with her and advised that, had she told us by when we needed to move them or that, if we didn't she would take it out of our deposit, those brances would have been moved within the time frame she set. She responded that she expected us to understand her tone of urgency in her last call to us.

Is there a law that requires her to inform us if she plans to take action that will result in a monetary bill on our end? It seems to be a demand for us to pay for work that we didnt order and could have easily done ourselves.
