    Default Open Container

My question involves criminal records for the state of: New York
I got a pink ticket for "open container" in NY. I pled NOT GUILTY today at the court on Broadway in Manhattan. Now I have a date for a criminal court in Brooklyn on Oct 28. My question is: if I loose would it show up in my criminal record as a crime, felony or misdemeanor. Will it stay in my criminal record forever?

If you've been ticketed for a violation, that's not a criminal offense and the record would ordinarily only be maintained locally - although it may show up in a background check and I make no promises that it won't cause issues in the future.

If you've been ticketed for a misdemeanor, that's a crime that will show up in your state criminal record.

What's the exact statute or ordinance charged?

Thank you for your response. i don't know what is the exact statute. They took this ticket when I was at the court. It was this regular pink parking- like ticket. I had an option to plaid guilty, send $25 before the court date and forget. Other people in the courtroom were charged $25 for the same thing. I pled not guilty and they gave me only an adjournment slip.

Chances are if convicted it won't come up in a backround check,it's a volation and not a criminal offense, it's always possablie it can pop up. It's sort of like a traffic ticket.
