Question Child Support with No Legal Paternity Established

My question involves child support in the State of: Florida. My significant other moved from Michigan to Florida with me. After getting settled in Florida she became pregnant. I had suspicions during the time one day I came home from work and she had left to go back to Michigan. Long story short she filed for child support in Michigan citing my last address as an address in Michigan which I never received and the courts finalized everything now I am paying child support through Florida. What is the easiest and least costly way to force a paternity test through the court. I have been told that I can stop the child support and state that I do not have legal paternity and the judge will court order it. Does anyone know if this is true.

How old is the child? When was the order put in place?

You've been found to be the legal father for the purposes of child support.

"Significant other" do you mean your wife? If so, you are the father of the child. Doesn't matter if you are not the biological father or not. The courts will declare you the father.

The term "significant other" generally implies that the couple aren't married

(Though yes, clarification would usually be quite handy! In this case however it may be moot....)

Funny...I always thought it meant spouse. In fact myself and most of my friends refer to the their wife as "Significant other".

    Ummmmmmmmmmm :-)

    Really? That's interesting!

I don't think I've ever heard anyone else refer to their spouse as an SO!

(Or heard SO referring to a spouse LOL)

You are probably using the term correctly and that might explain why we had completely different references for our girl friends at the time.

It could also be that I'm just a weird Brit

(With no girlfriends, alas. Though I have a pretty marvelous husband )

    (Sorry to OP for hijacking!)
