Default Personal Information Sent to Wrong Addressee

What privacy law is broken? School district mixed up letters - I got a letter containing personal/sensitive information on a district employee - they got personal/sensitive and discipline info on my minor child.

Perhaps none. Laws vary by state and by the type of information involved.

was it letters thru the mail or the child brought home?

If the child brought home then not much you can really do, they can claim kids got it mixed up or whatever. If it was letters in the mail it is still against the law to open someones mail even if it has your adress but thier name.
Now if it was mailed to you AND had your name on the envolope but the other persons info inside then you could have a claim. Ofcourse like said state laws vary but for the most part it was just a mix up, now if you are the victim of identity theft or something else because of the mistake made by the school then you might get somewhere.
