I'm sure a majority of the harassment laws are similar if not the same.
But from your perspective, would you see this as being legal (from US laws) and I can take it from there.

I wouldn't be so sure. There are MAJOR difference between UK laws and US law for much of employment law, and even in the US there can be major differences as to what constitutes harassment, depending on what state you are in. As I understand it, UK laws are pretty much universal nation wide; the US doesn't work that way. There are both Federal and state laws,and while Federal laws apply in all states, state law can and does vary drastically. Additionally, laws in the US are currently in flux as to what is permissable in school regarding bullying/harassment. So it isn't so easy to give you a yes-this-would-be-illegal-in-the-US/no-this-is-not-illegal-in-the-US as you might think.
