My question involves criminal law for the state of: Oregon
I am 20 years old and walked outside a friend's house with a beer in hand to answer my phone when two bicycle policemen approached me and told me to stop. The can was empty and I set it on the ground. They asked for my name and identification, I had none with me. I received a ticket for an open container, not MIP, even though I am underage. My first concern is whether or not to plead guilty and get it over with, or plead not guilty. On any account I'm sure my actual birthday will come up eventually, can the ticket be then changed into an MIP which seems more expensive and serious?
