Default What is the 30 day notice period?

I am new to these forums and I have a slight problem. I got a speeding ticket a while back and decided to wait to the last day to tell the court if I wanted to fight it or pay the fine. I told them I wanted to fight it, but she said they mailed out a 30 day notice explaining that I had 30 days to do something before they take my license away. Well I was looking at the letter which has my citation number and the cost etc. But the citation number is not the EXACT number thats on my ticket (one number is wrong but the rest are ok). Is this good or bad? Since im taking it to court, would it be possible for them to throw it out since they made an error this big. Or would they just be more pissed off knowing I didnt try and fix it. Any advice?

    Some questions

    1. What state are you in?

    2. What was this notice they mailed to you asking you to do before they take your license away? Why would they want to take your license away unless you have prior violations? Maybe this notice was in reference to another violation prior to your speeding citation.

    3. Are you sure you had 30 days to respond to your citation? Your citation should show a date that says you need to go to court on or before that date indicated on the citation (which I'm guessing you did).

Sounds like the court got their citation numbers and addresses mixed up.

    im from kansas

the notice was saying that i just had 30 days to take action (either pay the ticket or contest). After the 30 days, they would try and suspend my license.

This is my first ticket so i wasnt sure if theres anyway for me to get out of it since they messed up on the citation number. Should i notify the court of this error or just let it go until court and let the judge know?
