    Post Can Anything Be Done?

Okay, unlike most other minors, im not trying for emancipation do to abuse or teenage pregancy. i flat out dont get along w/ my family & i can easily support myself so i see no reason not to do so. i am 17 (Not 18 until April of 2007) & i want to move out w/ my girlfriend, Amanda, who is 18 (19 in October) & friend, Maureen, who is also 18. We have jobs, & already began looking for another. i have another year of highschool & have absolutely no intentions of dropping out. There are many affordable places to live for people my age here in Oklahoma. We have already done all the discussing & planning & know we are completely capable. All in all, though, i would just like to know if any of this would hold up to any judge. Can i get emancipated just because i can? Or is only for people who have more going on in their lives?

Oklahoma's emancipation law relates primarily to the right to enter legally binding contracts.

If you wish to move out, consider trying to work it out with your parents and get their permission.
