Default Filing a Memorandum of Points and Authorities (P&A) in Response to a Motion

    U.S. Dist Court

Can I file a single Memo of P&A in opposition to a motion for S/J and in support of my own motion for S/J? Or, do I need to file two separate P&A?

Most of the issues are the same and separate P&A is just more work. Also, seems it simplifies things for the court to read one document.

    Same question on supporting documents:

-Memo of John Doe (this would be identical)
-Statement of Uncontroverted Facts (mostly identical)

    Thanks.

You should file one for your motion response, and a separate one in support of your own motion. You're supporting two separate documents in two separate motions.
