My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Oregon, Marion co.
I got a 811.265 Failure to obey traffic control device(stop sign) $292.00
So I'm from Vancouver BC and on my holiday down south i got pinched doing a rolling stop on a right turn. I have never seen a stop sign on a right turn as the dont have them in Canada. But anyway.... I would like to get it lowered at least to take the sting out of it.
Here are the options as I understand them since I will not be going back to contest it.
- I called the Court Clerk and she said they could reduce it on the spot to $232.00 since I cant go to the court date.
- I could plead no contest send a money order for the whole amount and a letter stating my point of view(groveling)and hope for a partial refund.
Those are my only 2 options as I see it. Anyone have any experience pleading no contest?
Post up, I'm running out of time!
