    Default Citizenship Application Process

Once the Citizenship Application is filed and sent in with proper payment and documentation what happens next ?
What happens once the Immigration Office receives the file. Do they process for interview, do they check if I pay my taxes and have not been convicted in the USA, Do they run a criminal Background check overseas to check if I have not committed any crimes ? Would it go faster if I send along a criminal background check and copies of employment / proof of taxes payed ? How does this process work and would it go faster if filed through an Immigration Attourney, or will it take the same amount of time which could be up to 15 months or longer.

They verify the forms you submit, interview you, and make a decision. If you wish to know the specific procedure likely to be followed in your case, given that we know absolutely nothing of your circumstances, then it may be helpful to consult an immigration lawyer.
