    Unhappy Second Time Shoplifting

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arizona

Why I did it I wish I could tell myself. Last year I had my first shoplifting offense and I paid a fine and plead guilty. Now I did it again and I have a court date in about a week. The items costed under 100 at kohls. It was stupid and Im ashamed. They didnt arrest but Im scared of possible jail time, I cant lose my job. Im 21 and in need of some guidance as to what to do and as to what might happen because of my poor judgement. I dont know what to expect this time around. Thank you for your time everyone

Given that it is your second offense in a year, you might want to get an attorney especially if it is in the same jurisdiction as the first. Prosecutors and judges can sometime be annoyed when they cut a person a break for whatever reason and that person winds up back in front of them so quickly. Best case is another fine, probation and community service. Worst case is they decide to teach you a lesson and throw you in jail for some amount of time.
If you have a job, save for items in the future. Kohl's? Good grief...wait a week and it'll be on clearance 80% off...much more affordable. If you did it because of some irresistable impulse and not because you're just too cheap to pay, you might want to look into getting some counseling. I've heard there are support/treatment groups for people with these issues.

You didn't learn the first time?

I agree with Freeman that you may want to check around and see if there is a Shoplifters Support Group in your area or a few counseling sessions. While no police were called to the store, the store still can send the file to the court system. So you may find a summons to appear in the mail.

You will also receive a Civil Demand letter.
