Default Joke at School - How Much Trouble

Every year my boarding school has an end of the year banquet and one of the traditions is that the freshmen pass notes to people written by the other classes. I am a senior and I decided to be "funny." Here is what I did...

I wrote one note to one of my teachers that had an M on it.
A few minutes later I wrote another that had an I on it.
A few minutes later I wrote another that had an L on it.
A few minutes later I wrote another that had an F on it.

When she got them all, it spelled MILF, which is an acronym for "Mother I'd Like to F***." I meant this in the least serious way possible and completely as a joke, but it was taken the wrong way. I was kicked out of school for this.

This teacher and I had no previous interaction before this incident.

How far could something like this go if she pressed charges? I'm 17, if that makes a difference.

    Thanks

From what you have said, I doubt that criminal charges would be authorized.

Thank you for your input. Are there any other opinions on this?

    Thanks
