My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
Visiting Oakland from Seattle, I was thrown out of a bar for being too drunk. Outside I vaguely remember filling out some paperwork. As far as I remember I didn't end up in bracelets or receive a citation. I didn't go to jail or the sober tank, and as far as I know I didn't get a charge.
I am worried however, as I hung outside the bar afterwards waiting for the show to end (girlfriend inside) and politely talked with the bouncers who were surprisingly courteous and friendly considering. One said I was lucky I didn't end up in jail and that an "officer had flashed his badge" in the club to me before "escorting" me out.
I am worried about this incident as it occurred very far from where I reside. Do I wait and see for a citation/court summons? Could that be what the paperwork is or maybe just a bar incident report for the bar's records? Next steps?
Thanks in advance!
