My question involves divorce in the State of: California
My boyfriend filed a restraining order against his then wife in late 2009 because she was refusing to let him see their daughter while they were seperated. The TRO mentioned that neither one of them could cancel any insurance that they had together. She took him off of her insurance anyway (they had it through her employer) even though it didn't save her a dime (and didn't tell him about it.) 2 weeks before their divorce was final, he broke his arm.
So rather than paying the $25 dollar copay, he has had to pay thousands of dollars in doctor bills. Is she liable for all of these bills? Half?
He just wants to forget it, file bankruptcy, and move on - his credit is already in the toilet from her maxing out every one of their credit cards and not paying them (right after he served her papers of course).... but I don't think he should let her get away with it.
What should he do?
Thanks in advance
