Default Missed Conference with California Labor Board

My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: California

I filed a complaint with the CA Labor Board for unpaid wages from my previous employer. I resigned after eighteen months of solid work.I had a scheduled conference and missed it due to a date mix up. A stupid error on my part. I called the labor board and now I am awaiting a reply. I still would like to pursue this case to the fullest extent possible, what are my current options?

I did one better. I missed the stinkin' HEARING! There had been one postponement, I lost the letter with the new date, I called Friday to check the hearing date and... The Labor Board in CA doesn't work on Friday! Today I found out the hearing was yesterday @ 9am.
So now I'm on the phone to attorneys to see if I can get one to help me out. Wonder if a new date is a reasonable accommodation according to ADA? I have ADD & Major Depressive Disorder and my wages were paid in part by Dept of Rehab. Hmmm...
    is exactly right!

What does losing the letter have to do with you having ADD? When you have ADD, you learn to compensate by, in this case, for example, putting a sticky note on your computer, setting up an online calendar that send you an email when the appointment is coming up, etc.

But, BTW, admor, you should have started your own thread. The reason you missed your hearing is different than the OP's.

I did miss the hearing for the same reason as OP. Date mix up. Cause or reason is secondary and/or irrelevant.

That's right, it is irrelevant; that was my point. You missed it. Now you have to bear the consequences.
