My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
I was with a 21 year old female and a 16 year old male a few days ago. Earlier that day the 16 year old and his friend robbed a corn stand, we went back later to actually get corn from the spot, turns out, a few hours later the police called us (they got the 16 yr old's cell because earlier that day a old man got their license plate #) and told all three of us to come in monday (yesterday), when we showed up, the 21 yr old female was questioned and then the 16 yr old. I was brought in and arrested and charged with petit larceny and criminal mischief. The police said they had video surveillance of us breaking into the box. There was a old man across the street a few hundred feet away that was watching as i got corn. But it turns out that he stopped the 16 yr old and his friend earlier that day. So im assuming he will be looking for the 16yr old and his friend, not me. What am I going to have to do? Is one witness hundreds of feet away enough? Will i be fine if the old man doesnt recognize me? and if i am charged with these crimes, what will be the outcome? I am 16 and have only a violation for possession of marijuana. I have court on the 20th of September.
