My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: California.

Hello and thank you in advance for any advice that anyone is willing to provide.

Here's the situation; I mailed my continued claims form past the due date, due to several varying reasons. Due on 10/1 and was all filled out and ready to go. Right around this time I was fairly certain I would be getting a position from a quasi friend (and done with EDD), between emailing back and forth and revisions of my resume and references, instead of mailing my form back I mistakenly attached it to something and filed it away. So when the job dropped through and I was reviewing my files, I realized the mistake and mailed the form on 10/16. Wasn't until after mailing I did research and found I was only entitled to a 14 grace period. Started calling EDD and was unable to speak with a live person until 10/23, and well they can't do anything and apparently I shouldn't bother talking to supervisor as they can't help, I have to wait for my interview on 11/1. I really should have emailed them, however the last email I sent, when first starting my EDD process, took them almost 4 weeks to respond to.

Frustrated at myself, edd and life in general . . . if I tell the above to EDD during my phone interview what are my chances of them considering it good cause and paying me for this time period? I've been extremely focused and diligently trying to find a job, keep detailed records and applying for far more positions than covered on the form, I just haven't found a job yet.
