My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Missouri
I was fired 15 months ago in a company of 300 plus. I called in sick and laid off. Next day I was fired. Apparently my former boss said I didn't specify I was sick, that I just laid off. After an investigation they fired me taking her word. However, during the investigation she admitted that I called in sick. Much later during the same investigation she retracted saying I never did call in sick. She was caught lying and the union, during a break from the investigation laughed at her retraction. I thought I was now going to be exonerated. WRONG I still I got fired. This "boss" is also gay and she has made advances on me. I don't want to get into specifics but I am not gay and refused. I can't prove this but I believe I was retaliated by her with this incident. I have no evidence or witnesses of her advances except a polygraph I took. My union says I should be coming back to work within a month. I don't plan on staying long, maybe 6 months to clean up my resume and look for work outside this company. If I turn this person into human resources after being reinstated, can the company retaliate and fire me? If so, do I have a case, can I seek legal help? I'm not trying to sue, I just want expose her to the company before moving on. During work conversations, she has also slandered other women sexually, to which I just ignored or changed the subject (also on my polygraph). Any advise is appreciated.
