My question involves an eviction in the state of: South Carolina
I have 2 roommates. One of which is on the lease with myself and the other is on a roommate contract through the apartment complex. The roommate not on the lease was suppose to pay his 1/3 of the rent by the 4th of the month. He told me he wouldn't have it. I paid the whole portion, assuming he would pay me in the upcoming day like he said. After more days of not paying, I told him that I would want the money and it would be best if he moved out at the end of the month. It is now almost 2 weeks and he hasn't paid yet. I asked him about the money and he said he would pay me eventually, but I had no grounds to ask him to leave. I then told him about utilities being due soon and he said he wasn't going to pay it because i evicted him.
At this point, I dont care about the money, I just want him to leave so I can bring in someone who will pay. What rights do I have since he isn't technically on the lease and what should my next step be. Thanks.
