Default Can I Put the Biological Father's Name on Birth Certificate

My question involves paternity law for the State of: California (San Diego)

    Hi everyone,

I am currently pregnant and I want to put the bio fathers name on the birth certificate. However he will not be present and probably not even involved. I just donīt want to leave it blank, I want his name on the certificate. The father is Mexican and he lives in Mexico, I will not be going after child support.

So basically my question is, can I put the his name on the birth certificate if he is not present??

    Thanks in advance...

Unless you're married to him - no.

He has to give his consent.

    ditto...

CA no longer allows you to name random folks as the fathers of your children. Sorry.

And Bill Gates is thrilled that WA no longer allows that type of thing either.

    Dang.

You know CA was probably one of the last states to stop that practice? They didn't get an AOP (DOP over here) until about 15 years ago. Before then, it was nameapalooza.

    That's actually frightening.
