    Default Seller Changed Price

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: pennsylvania

yesterday (monday 8/9/10) i contacted a sell for a palm pre cell for listed at $40. the seller emailed me back stating that i would be able to purchase tomorrow (wednesday 8/11/10) and that we would meet at a public place and even specified the meeting place. today however when i contacted the seller for a meeting time i was told they were removing the post and reposting at a larger price. is it possible for the seller to do this??? as far as i understand these emails should be considered a form of contract with them agreeing to meet wednesday 8/11/10

so, you are saying that once you got there if he had a non-functional phone or one that was severely damaged, he could hold you to the contract and force you to buy the phone?

    Get serious.

It was not a binding verbal contract. There was no consideration.

Even if there was, the amount is so insignificant, it would be pointless to try anything.

Even if the above was not the case, obviously from your description you don't even really know who this person is, etc.

    End of story. Say bye.
