It really doesn't work that way. It's not the type of case, it's the exact principle that you want to challenge. What is the exact nature of the challenge you wish to make?
I was asked to find any case law information I can find on Aggervated Assault for a friend of my husbands who is in jail. Im not exactly sure what he wants me to find.
Try using sites such as LexisOne and Google Scholar.
If that is the only charge then start by learning probable cause.
How was first contact made and why?
I always have to question the validity of an arrest when the only charge is either assault and or battery on an officer, resisting arrest or obstruction. There is usually an interesting story involved. To lawyers who specialize in police misconduct they are the triad of misconduct.
People usually don't just walk up and sock a cop.
If the officer felt threatened(during a stop the defendant lurched his car toward the deputy)then he needs no probable cause. This charge is also legitimately applied when during the course of a detainment the defendant does something threatening.
This site is helpful for general definitions. However each state can differ somewhat.
