Default How to Change the Name of My Father on My Birth Certificate

I'm an adult living in California, I recently found out that my mother's husband was not my natural father. I want to put my natural father's name on my birth certificate. My natural father is also deceased. So how would I go about doing this? My natural father was born, lived and died in Ireland if that makes any difference.

Default Re: How Would I Change the Name of My Father on My Birth Certificate

    Were you born in California?

You would need to go to court to have your legal father's paternity disproved, and your biological father's paternity proven - difficult, since he is deceased.

California will not allow you to change the birth record without a court order.
