    Default What Should a Creditor Do When a Debtor Declares Bankruptcy

    My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: CA
    I got a notice of Chapter 7 Case as a creditor. This is a mortgage company that we used to get a loan. Meeting of creditors will be Sept. 7, 2010.

    What should I do? I have no clue what so ever. The notice says "Do not file proof of claim unless you receive a notice to do so".

    Help appreciated!

    I'm a little unclear, here.

    The mortgage company that you used to get a loan is listing you as a creditor?

    They owe you money, not the other way around?

    The CEO of a mortgage company (LEI Financial) is listed as the debtor, then we have a trustee and us , the creditors (plenty of them). I got a loan through them 6-7 years ago and have since refinanced. I have no idea how I am included or what has been going on before this.

    A little confused as well, if they do not owe you money, you've probably been notified in error and don't have to do anything.
