Default Craigslist Online Solicitation of a Minor Police Sting

So my friend played a prank on craigslist. He pretended to be a girl and answered those mm4w ads. Those ads usually have a title and a age. On those ads its usually something like "title - age - location" The thing is that hes afraid that he might have answered to something like this "two hot guys looking for hot chick - 1717- usa". Back then he doesn't know what the "1717" meant. He thought it was "one thousand seven hundred and seventeen" Hes now afraid that he might have accidentally answered one of those ads and is afraid that it might be an undercover police officer or something. Should he be worried?

Unless he gets a knock on his door (or a response to his response), he should relax and stop fretting.

He should also stay off Craigslist if he feels compelled to "play pranks", because "But I was just joking, Officer!" NEVER works.

Tell him to follow this advise because once the detectives come to arrest him there is no way of talking himself out of getting un-arrested.

As proposed, he need not worry. There is NOTHING in the add that promotes any criminal activity.

1717 is NOT an age, even if 17 were under the age of consent for the state.

He should however, be very cautious about online solicitations and especially pranks.

What kind of idiot “plays a prank” on craigslist then worries later about being arrested for being a pervert?
