Default Online Game Terminated My Account, Still Selling My Creations

    Hello

I once played a Game called Second Life, where users can create and sell products. I created some vending machines in this game with my own scripting and a while back I was terminated from game with a whole other bunch of users, no reason.

It has been a year now that I get multiple emails a day from my products still selling in this game and am unable to log into any account to retrieve my money.

Linden Labs have only stopped me from logging in, but have not stopped my main character from still being able to sell products in their online store.

They have locked me out in a way that I am not even able to log in and actually terminate my own account so they stop making money from it.

They are selling my products without my permission and making all the money from it.

What can I do in this situation?

    Thanks in advance

Is your goal to get them to stop selling the products, or to have them keep selling the products but get paid? Or to get paid for what's been sold to date, but stop future sales? Or... something else?

    Hi Knowitall

I want them to stop selling my products, and pay me the money that is owed to me by all sales of my products after my account with them was apparently closed.

My last request for the above was declined by them and a return email to not contact them anymore as their descision was final to close my account.

Altho my account is still open on their servers, so they continue selling my products and pocketing the money from each sale on their online store.

Sorry, I admit I know very little about SecondLife and the like. I'm learning as I go along.

You are free to hire a lawyer to try to sue them for the proceeds of the sales. From what you've told us so far, their actions would violate your copyright. However, you should expect that this will involve a significant investment in legal fees.

You can try to find an appropriate recipient for a DMCA takedown notice. That won't generate money, but it may get them to stop selling your creations.

I know also of a lawsuit ongoing with the company right now.

Of course from their TOS,it says they can terminate anyone's account at anytime.

11.3 We may suspend or terminate your Accounts for violation of this Agreement. Your rights to any compensation or recourse are limited to those provided herein.

Linden Lab may suspend or terminate your Account if you violate this Agreement, along with any or all other Accounts held by you or otherwise related to you as determined by Linden Lab, and your violation of this Agreement shall be deemed to apply to all such Accounts. Upon termination of your Accounts, this Agreement between us will be automatically terminated and you may not re-subscribe to Second Life, or return to Second Life through other or future Accounts you or others may set up. In the event of termination by Linden Lab of your Accounts under this Section 11.3, you will be entitled to receive the stated current value of any credit balance held in your Account(s), i.e., amounts you have cashed out on the LindeX, as your exclusive remedy and our sole liability. This does not include any Linden dollar balance held in your Account(s). In order to receive any sums pursuant to this Section 11.3, you must establish and inform us of a verified PayPal account into which we may transfer those sums. We will deduct from any or all of the above sums any outstanding fees or charges due to Linden Lab.

We reserve the right to impose reasonable procedures and restrictions with respect to the above, including without limitation the right to verify your identity and Accounts, to limit transfers to verified PayPal accounts, to impose other anti-fraud measures, and to refuse to process funds we believe are the product of fraud or theft..
Of course i used to use it,but i exiled myself from 2nd life after a new announcement that they are no longer trying to get companies to use it. Because i used to be a consultant to various universities on helping them out on building.

BTW,i'm on Inworldz, and the Openlife Grid. Only thing is that my laptop died which had all my info on it,so i had to buy a new one.
