My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Pennsylvania.

I have been reading extensively about emancipation. My problem is this: I am 20 years old, do not live with either of my parents (actually live with my grandparents). I am a college student. I do not have ideal relations with my father, but it's not a bad relationship. He has never provided me with any financial support since the time I moved into my grandparents home at the age of 7. BUT with FAFSA, I have to go through him. It is near impossible for me to get him to fill out the necessary forms, and as such, I cannot not get Financial Aid and have to pay full tuition, on my own, with no help from him or anyone else.

I know I am able to emancipate myself because I am over the age of 18 and he also has NEVER provided financial support for me. I am just wondering if the process would be any easier because of these two factors. I have two jobs, and am pretty much financially independent, aside from the fact that I live in my grandparents house.

Another issue is that I believe their is split custody between my mom, dad and grandparents. It's a very confusing situation. Please help!
