Hi,
This morning I rolled a stop sign causing no risk for the other traffic. I was purposely driving slowly because there was a horse-buggy in front of me. I know I rolled the stop sign ( I did hit my breaks but I did not fully stop).
What happened next still blows my mind. A crappy pick-up tailgated me, the filthy driver screaming and slamming his steering wheel. He followed me home (about 2 minutes from where I rolled the stop sign) and shouted at me at the top of his voice. He was basically "saying" that I had rolled a stop sign and in the state of Pennsylvania this is illegal (note: my license plate is from Georgia, the car belongs to my grandparents). He used heavy expletives and said that he was a constable, and that he would report me.
I apologized for rolling the stop sign, apologized for any discomfort me rolling the stop sign had caused him and wished him a good day. I guess he didn't expect me to respond friendly, so in return he left but slammed the breaks at the same time, which made his tires squeak so loudly, my ears were ringing.
My question is: what should I expect? Is there anything I can do against his rudeness or is it just gonna end up costing a lot of money to fight his claim? How much would a ticket for rolling a stop sign cost me?
Thanks so much!
