Default Hitting Window on Parked Car with in Stop Sign No Park Zone

    Hello Everyone,

This morning I had the misfortune of hitting my side view window against the side view window of a parked car heading into work. The car was parked within the 30 ft boundary of a stop sign (What I understand is the law in Texas)... I was trying to squeeze in next to it to ensure room for oncoming traffic. My rear view folded in, per design, and looking back I did not see any obvious damage to the other vehicle's rear view. I chose not to stop. My question: How would this situation play out if I were to go back to locate the owner? Am I at fault regardless of where the person was parked?

    Thank you for your time,
    G

yes and if there was any damage, you are not guilty of leaving the scene of an accident.
