California is a lot more willing to work with someone then the feds are. Something in Ca where if you have a clean record might get you probation,the feds will probably give you some jail time. Like the op said the guy can get hit by the feds and CA. It might go thru for awhile,then out of nowhere he will get caught. It sort of like a shoplifter who steals,each time he feel more comfortable and never thinks he can get caught. Tell them to imagine getting investigated,arrested,charged,going to court and then maybe jail. Also having to live with a few felony convictions and having trouble finding a job in the future.
