My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Georgia

I have a couple employees who work for me that do a bad job working. They are slow, careless, and immature. My first idea was to write them up to fire them but corporate is saying that I need so many write ups that it would take half a year to terminate them. So my next idea is to ask them to resign, and if they agree to I will give them a letter of recommendation. Is it illegal to ask an associate to resign based on a bad work performance? I really need to get these associates replaces so my other associates aren't stressing. Thank you!

You'll want to make sure that this is line with your corporate policies, however, since they seem to want a write-up quota before firing someone.

No write ups are required by law. That may be corporate policy, but it is not illegal to fire someone with NO write ups.

Before you offer a letter of recommendation to someone who does not deserve it, google "negligent referral".

the answer my friend is easy: give them tasks so distasteful that they will resign .. make their work environment so that they will leave on their own (change hours, work tasks, etc)

Other than that, you are stuck with your corporate HR & your Supv.
