Default Obtaining 911 Call Records for Accident

The other insurance company states that they have a witness that claims I was on my cell phone at the time of the accident;obviously false, since I had it at home at the time.

How can I obtain a copy of the 911 calls pertaining to this specific accident, which will show the time of said calls?

You can attempt to obtain the dispatch records or a recording through your state's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The laws and procedures vary by state. In some states, the police department will have a form you can use to request records. There is generally a copying charge.

The actual recording may be maintained for only a short time - e.g., ninety days - so if that is important to you, get your request in as soon as you can after the incident.
