My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: Florida
I am a salaried supervisor with a major freight company and I am also a drilling reservist(veteran). My question is that if I am required to take 1-5 days off from my civilian employer so that I can meet a requirement for the military, am I required to forfiet my salary while I am away. If I am sick I get paid, if I have a Dr's appt I get paid. I thought that I read somewhere that if a salaried employee was out of work for any reason five days or less, their empoyer was required to pay them. I would just like to know, because when there are duties on a weekend we are not compensated for that time and I feel as if there is a double standard being carried out.
Thank you in advance for any advice or help you may offer.
