Default Not Paid for Under the Table Hours Worked

My question involves business law in the state of: New York

I have a question about my past company not paying me for hours on the book and hours not on the books that were under the table hours. Im not sure if this is the thread to post in or not. If its not can someone tell me a better place to post the full story/question?

    Thanks

This is the correct place to post.

If you've not been properly paid and you can document it, file a complaint with the New York Department of Labor.

Agree, assuming that by "under the table", you mean that you were being misclassified as an independent contractor, but should have been classified as an employee.

But if you agreed to be paid under the table because you wanted to avoid the IRS altogether, then filing a claim with the DOL might get you into soem trouble.
