State of Florida:
I have just been offered a position to teach in the Palm Beach County School District? Part of the process now is filling out a security form and having my fingerprints taken to verify my background. On the Security Form it says, "failure to list any info, no matter how long ago, will be grounds for termination." The first question asks, "Has your driver's license EVER [("ever" in capital letters)] been suspended or revoked?" Farther down the form, it asks "Have you EVER pled no contest in a criminal proceeding?"
When I was 16 (~2001) I was arrested for underage drinking, and I pled no contest in court. As a result, my license was suspended for 6 months.
Do I report this? That is, do I answer yes on the form? I ran a background check to find the dates, and there was no record, but the form says "EVER." I am concerned that since my fingerprints were taken following the arrest that there may be a hit in the system when they check my prints. Thank you to anybody who can provide an educated response to this.
