Default Duty to Pay Medical Bills Caused By Employer

Hello again! I made a post here a few weeks ago titled "Can they do that?", and I have a follow up question.
Since I was fired, there has been no contact between myself and my former employment, and things have calmed down. Granted I am stressed because of trying to find a job, otherwise I'm ok. But over the past couple days, I have been getting medical bills in the mail. The bills are addressed to me as means to collect payment of medical charges from the Hospital stay I had when I was fired. The only reason I had to go to the Hospital was because my boss called the police and they took me there. Plus to make it worse, I have no Medical Insurance. So far with the bills I have received (I'm scared to check today’s mail in fear of finding more) for the Ambulance ride and part of the visit, the amount is about $2000, and the evaluations from the psychologists part of the bill hasn't even been added on yet! :?
Basically what I am asking is do I have to pay these bills (keep in mind I have no insurance) or do I send them to my former boss since he made the call for me to go there? If I do send them to him, how do I do that to be sure he gets them? Certified Mail? Any comments or feedback is greatly appreciated!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!

    Default Medical Bills

They are your bills for your medical care, so the hospital and ambulance will expect you to pay. You can ask your employer to pay, or you can seek reimbursement as part of your damages in the event that you litigate against your employer.

Default RE: Do I have to pay these?

Any recomendations on what I should say upon asking my former employer to pay these? I'm sure that there is somthing better than what I want to say which is... "Your the jerk that had the cops take me to the hospital, so you pay these bills!!!

Default Getting Bills Paid by Employer

If you are considering legal action against your employer, you should consult a lawyer before making any demand.

Back again. So I asked my former employer in a letter to contact me so we could figure out how the bills will be paid. He sent me one back saying that he talked to his lawer, and that he thinks he has no responcibility for the bills, so he isn't going to pay them or talk to me about them at all. Since he called the police and had me sent to the hospital, doesn't that make him at fault for the bills?

Not of itself. If you had a heart attack, and he called an ambulance, would you expect him to pay the hospital bill? Apparently in your case the police also played a role in your being hospitalized, which provides another layer of insulation between the employer and the hospitalization.

    Default Trying to Sue Employer

A defense against your charge that your hospitalization was the employer's fault.
