Default Fractured Hand on Bar Punching Machine

My question involves injury or loss that occurred in the state of: Wisconsin

I fractured my hand on a coin operating bar boxing simulator. It is the style where a speed bag attatched to an arm with a hinge that swings down. I want to know if this is a sueable issue.

    Unlikely.

Did the machine come over and punch you, or did you put coins in to use it, and strike poorly? Such amusements are typically labeled that you use them at your own risk.

It was the weirdest thing, this machine had legs. It was wandering around the bar and people were buying it shots, so I guess my real question is whether or not the machine can be held liable for bieng intoxicated.

    *snort*

Try harder, snoogie. I've heard more articulate aspersions from toddlers.

You can't sue the bar because you got bombed and busted up your hand. Words mean things. "Use at your own risk" means something pretty obvious.

Next time, don't play with toys you're ill equipped to use, and you won't have to ask strangers on the internet who you can sue.

Not typically a good idea to call names when you're trying to get an answer.

Reactions like that often indicate that the response hit too close to home. No pun intended.

The big question, of course, is "How did you fracture your hand," and in what way was that a fault of the machine as opposed to your aim or technique? If you missed the bag and punched the swing arm, it's difficult to see how that is a problem with the design or maintenance of the machine. Similarly, if the speed bag was simply a standard speed bag, even if you punched it squarely and somehow fractured your hand it would seem to be more an issue of your technique than a problem with the bag - thousands of people punch speed bags every day without injury.

    1. I wasnt bombed, nor did I have any alchohal in my system.
    2. Words mean things if they're printed on those things. No where at all on this machine does it state any sort of warning, I went back and checked.
    3. Like I said in the first thread the arm is on a "HINGE", which should've set off some sort of bell in your head to think of mechanics. If you hit this bag any which way but center the hinge wont go up therefore the bag basically turns into an.... (Let's give LawResearcherMissy some time to catch up with us) .... still waiting.... an immovable object! There you go... Ding' Lawsuit.

1.+2.+3.= Hand Fracture Lawsuit against the engineered design of the machine, or the company that produces said machine.

Well, since you've decided you have a valid lawsuit, go ahead and file it yourself or find a lawyer willing to represent you.

    wow, you're gonna be rich.

I like the part about an air filled bag becoming an immovable object. I think that speaks volumes about the physical stature of our OP.

Hey OP, you have to hit the bag from the front. As long as you do that, it will move, unless you are really really wimpy.
