Default Caught Shoplifting for the Second Time, Curious About Consequences

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio/Michigan

I was caught shoplifting at Meijers in Michigan about 4 months ago, and I went to court for that. I stole about 60$ worth of merch, and I had to pay about 700$ in fees to the court and 200$ to Meijers, as well as a couple months of probation. I talked to my p.o. today and he said if someone were to do a local check on my record they wouldn't see anything about shoplifting on it, but if someone from out of state did a check they would see a small "blip" about retail fraud, but that I was not prosecuted.
I am 17, and turn 18 august 20th, and a couple days ago I was caught shoplifting in Ohio at a H&M store. I stole about 55$ worth of stuff there. Ohio said they may transfer the case to Michigan, or they may take care of it there.
I'm wondering what my consequences are going to be in this specific case, and how I should go about dealing with it.

You didn't learn the first time?

Expect more fines. Another Civil Demand letter. The judge will be able to see you have a prior offense.

Turning 18 soon? Guess what....get caught after you turn 18, and the punishment will be harsher. You can then expect that you may be entered into a national database of shoplifters. You can expect that your job options will be very limited. You will find that even getting an apartment may be difficult. Get the concept yet?

In Michigan, at the age of 17, a person can be charged as an adult for a criminal offense.

I cannot understand why someone would choose to go through this a second time. I am so absolutely terrified that I haven't been able to sleep well for the past 3 weeks. I'm just praying for this entire ordeal to be over so I can never even DREAM of putting myself through this again. As PandorasBox said, didn't you learn the first time?

    I understand.
I've enrolled myself in various shoplifters anonomous groups, and I'm getting therapy for it. It was a pretty serious addiction that didn't quite subside after the first time. It's embarassing, but it's what happened. Do you think they would consider jail time?

Also, I'm going to be charged in Ohio, not Michigan.

    Hi MellBell...

Put yourself into another anti-shoplifting program....

If your parents are paying your legal fees....tell them to stop, or atleast make you work your ass off to pay them back. Mowing the lawn, etc.

$900 (for your first time) is a lot of money. That would be working a minimum wage job, 20 hours a week, for 8-9 weeks (including taxes)

Honey - listen....if you get busted after your 18 birthday....the punishment will be a zillion times worse.

I don't plan on continuing shoplifting. I'm paying my own fee's, and I did so for the first time aswell. Right now I'm persuing anti-shoplifting programs, and I'm just hoping I don't end up doing jail time.. I appreciate all the comments, and answers.

If you're 17 then you're in luck. the shoplifting charges won't be on your record when You turn 18.
