My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Michigan

Country: USA
State: Michigan
County: Kalamazoo

We have - Joint Legal & Joint Physical Custody
50% - 50% Parenting Time

We were not married and have a seven year old son.

I just discovered that (my son's) mother’s boyfriend is a convicted sex offender. They have been living together, in his house, for over a year. My son's mother works 3rd shift so my son is alone with this person several times a week for extended periods of time.

He is registered on the States Sex Offenders website.
His status: Compliant, Discharged 11/05/2008

Plead to: 750.520e1b Criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree; misdemeanor (incapacitated victim).

How do I determine if he is considered dangerous to others?

Are there circumstances where it is OK for convicted sex offenders to be living with minor children?

Is the first step to get records on this guy? And if so what am I looking for? I know he has a criminal record. He has a child; there must be some type of custody agreement (he does not see his child).

What do I do?
