    Arrow Unnecessary Surgical Procedure

My father has had a circulation issue with his calves for a while. He went to a specialist who told him that he must perform a certain proceedure to fix the problem. My father is 55 years old therefor any proceedure for him carries a greater risk within itself - considering he has several minor health issues. He went through this proceedure which did not help the pain and the condition in general of his legs. He went to another 2 specialists who both confirmed that the proceedure done was completely unneccessary and my father took off days from work, went through a considerable amount of pain healing from the proceedure and I think it is a good idea to talk to a lawyer.

I was simply wondering if, with a good lawyer, do we actually have a case or not?

    Thnx

    Let's start with......

    What was the procedure?

What other medical issues does your Father have?

What are the Specialties of all 3 Physicians?

Well, if your father signed an informed consent, you are out of luck. Informed consent is when the doctor explained why he is gonna do the procedure and what to expect. Now, if what to expect did not happen and it is written in the informed consent, you are lucky. Especially that you have the backings of 2 doctors of it being unnecessary.

He may have a case. You have no standing to do anything.

Although he may have a case, chances are there is not enough money involved to make it worthwhile, though doctors and insurers sometimes will make reasonable settlements before a civil action is ever filed. However, you'd need a medical malpractice attorney to take the case in the first place.
